When Carlos retired, he began to discover the neighborhood in a new way. On his walks, he found streets and corners that quietly captivated him.
One afternoon he strayed from his usual path. Carlos crossed the entrance garden and climbed the marble steps one by one to the door. Inside, the wooden floorboards creaked beneath his feet. A very large canvas stopped him in his tracks. He stepped closer and took in every detail. He read the inscription on the painted flag: Libertad o Muerte (Liberty or Death).
