Cacheta sat on the steps of the IAVA high school, probably waiting for a classmate or maybe keeping an eye on that red-haired boy, a year older than her.
She leaned back against the low wall, took a book out of her bag, and tried to lose herself in its pages to make the wait between the last class and the assembly more bearable. Still, she kept thinking about the redhead. Knowing he had a girlfriend, she forced herself to focus on reading.
It was her last year of high school. Soon she would no longer ride the bus from Malvín to Cordón neighbourhood, nor spend her afternoons debating on those very steps.
