It was raining in Santiago, perhaps that was why Arazatí felt everything a little more intensely. He missed his daughters, his neighborhood, even the sheets on his bed. That night he also missed the kids from the youth soccer league. Around the ball they had become family.
He rummaged through his desk, pulled out a couple of sheets of paper and a pen, turned on a dim light, and began to write:
Although you cannot see me, I am there laughing and playing, catching the purity of all the children in the world so that I can later pass it on to the adults who, after all the suffering, have forgotten how to be happy.
