Aída's friends all knew that rain meant something good was coming: doña Elsa's tortas fritas pastries. The best in Villa Española, and quite possibly in all of Montevideo. But that wasn't all. There were also her stews, casseroles, soups, and pasta. Everything Elsa made turned out beautifully.
