The back of the house smelled of sawdust. The room Raimundo used as his workshop was crowded with ideas and projects in progress. Planks here, tools there, and little Elsa drifting among her father's things. The scent of wood filled her with joy.
Raimundo had designed a small playhouse for his daughters. He bought the materials and built it with his own hands. When she saw it, little Elsa cried out:
—It's beautiful! The first guest at my little house is going to be Grandma. We'll have ravioli on Sunday.
Raimundo laughed, warmly.
